EU Referendum Result: Detailed update on support for business community issued by Sajid Javid
Following on from a round table discussion involving several key business sector leaders, Sajid Javid (the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills) has now issued a fulsome and detailed statement on Britain’s decision to leave the European Union and what it means for organisations going forward. The message from Javid and the Government is crystal clear: “Britain is open for business.”
Javid told the gathering: “Yes, the financial markets are still reacting to the result, but the fundamental facts remain unchanged. The UK is still a member of the European Union, and still a member of the Single Market. Employment is still at a record high, and this Government is still 100% committed to making the UK the very best place in Europe to start and grow a business. None of this changed on the morning of Friday 24 June, and none of this will change overnight.”
The Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills and former managing director at Deutsche Bank noted that, in his opinion, this isn’t the time for hasty decisions to be made that will be regretted later.
