KPMG research unearths ‘disconnect’ as businesses fail to ‘walk the talk’ on innovation
Analysis carried out by professional services firm KPMG points towards a ‘disconnect’ between the value businesses place on innovation and the amount they’re investing in it. That particular scenario “threatens to inhibit growth” within the UK’s vital middle market sector.
The survey of 215 medium-sized businesses found that, while nine out of ten companies agree being better at innovation than any competitors is fundamental to their long-term survival, firms’ confidence that they’re excelling at innovation is low, with only a quarter (26%) believing they’re superior to their competitors on the innovation front.
