Employers and entrepreneurs sound alarm over Government’s consultation on scope for abolition of employment restrictions
As the Government’s ‘Call for Evidence’ on restrictive covenants closes, employers and entrepreneurs alike are voicing “grave concern” over potential changes to employment law which they believe could “put British businesses at risk”.
A poll conducted by leading law firm Mishcon de Reya reveals that UK entrepreneurs believe restrictive covenants are vital for protecting today’s fast-growing companies and that changing the law would “negatively impact” their business.
With uncertainty already rife following the outcome of the EU Referendum, no less than 73% of entrepreneurs questioned also suggest restrictive covenants are important in attracting and retaining investment which is “vital” for UK growth.
